Kutxateka : Photoreport : Cortejo fúnebre. Traslado del cadáver del embajador de Francia Mr. Joseph Thierry, del Ayuntamiento a la Estación del Norte. Mr. Thierry falleció la madrugada del 24 mientras se alojaba en el "Hotel María Cristina". Por acuerdo del Ayuntamiento, la capilla ardiente se instaló en la Casa Consistorial dando guardia al cadáver, un piquete del regimiento de Sicilia. La comitiva de la conducción seguía el siguiente orden: una sección de caballería de la guardia civil, el clero de las distintas parroquias, el Ayuntamiento presidido por el gobernador civil, la diputación, un piquete de miqueletes, el armón de artillería conduciendo el cadáver. En la presidencia del duelo, el infante Fernando representando a S.M. el rey, el coronel Bonnell en representación del Presidente de la República Francesa, familiares del difunto. S.M. la reina Victoria, delegó su representación en el marqués de Torrecilla y la reina María Cristina en el marqués de Castell-Rodrigo. [87079739]
